Hi, I’m Melissa. I believe that anything is possible and that life makes a lot more sense when you know ‘why you are here’ (aka your purpose). I also believe it is even better when your work and lifestyle enables you to live that purpose daily.
I believe that vocation and business are one way where we get to live from our purpose and that business can and should be a force for global good.
I work with people who are called to do ‘something’ in this life and just can’t settle for life in the box anymore. If this is you, you might not know what the ‘something’ is yet, but you can’t ignore this call anymore.
I work with leadership teams that believe in conscious business that does good in the world (as well as making money). Business leaders that understand that creating meaning and purpose for their people is the way for true profitability, sustainability and ongoing engagement with customers and community.
I’ve done the corporate thing, worked in senior Human Resources and Organisational Development roles in some of NZ’s biggest companies for over 15 years. Coached dozens of people and worked with groups that have ranged from completely dysfunctional teams who need to move forward through to high performers that want to make a bigger, better impact on the world. I’ve managed employee engagement projects for thousands through to facilitating intimate leadership retreats for executive teams.
I’m a science-fiction loving introvert who loves being on stage (go figure). I support the Canterbury Crusaders and I’m partial to watching the cricket (with the exception of tests). I’m also a Mum.
My greatest gift is seeing potential and possibility in people and business. My why is about empowering people to live their unique gifts and talents and uncover their purpose.
Seeing people resonate with a new insight that makes their life or work better brings me immense joy, and deep and meaningful conversations about global issues and impact are as necessary as water. Information maven is a label I willingly take and connecting people with new ideas and resources is as natural as breathing. Curiosity is one of my defining traits and I get withdrawals if I don’t put paint to canvas on a regular basis- check out my artist website .
And Possibility as my company name? Well, besides from being one of the most expansive freedom-feeling words around, the archaic definition is around living to “one’s utmost capacity or ability” . That is something that I could happily explore for the rest of my life.
